@July 23 , 2006, Sakakiyama Shrine Grand Festival in Fukuoka , Nakatsugawa
City , Gifu Prefecture (summer festival) was held.
@The festival duty was a rotating turn , and Uenaegi District served as
the festival duty. The district on duty at the festival builds a float
, which children and mothers pull on the day of the snmmer festival.
@In the Uenaegi district , there is Tobitenno (Uenaegi Shrine) , the predecessor
of Sakakiyama Shrine and it was decided to build a statue of Gozu Tenno
on the float after Gozu Tenno , the deity of the shrine. As the name suggests
, Gozu Tenno (the heavenly king with a cow head) is charactenized by having
a cow on its head.
