Since Tsunemoto Minamoto , the grandson of Emperor of Seiwa , was appointed
to the lord of Mino , Mino Genji has been appointed to the lord of Mino
one after another , from his child Mitsunaka to Yorimitsu , Yorinobu ,
Yorimitsu's son Yorikuni , and his son Kunifusa. It is believed that the
lineage of these clans took control of the powerful family in valious parts
of Mino and became established. One of the mainstream denominations of Mino Genji was Toki clan , which was called Hichiro Mino , and settled in Toki-gun at the end of the Heian period in 1057 , and became a powerful figure in the area of Chuno and Tono. Its descendants served as guardians of Mino Providence for generations , prospered as a clan that supported the Muromachi Shogunate after that , and were based in the land of Tono. The Toki clan also had a great influence on the Toyama clan. |

There is Akechi Castle Ruins of Mino Genji in Kani City , Gifu Prefecture. The photo on the left above is where Akechi clan's residence was located from 1342 for 215 years. Even though , it was a castle , there were no flashy buildings such as a castle tower , and it was a typical medieval mountain fortress with earthworks and abatis trees around it. This castle was destroyed by Yoshitatsu Saito in 1556 , but the historically famous Mitsuhide Akechi escaped from here in hopes of a resurgence. Then after wandering around the nations , he served Nobunaga oda and demonstrated his natural tarent , and soon after , he became a lord of 540000-koku in Omi Tanba. However , there is something that is essentially incompatible with Nobunaga Oda , who is straightforward , phantom , and only martial arts ,and finally , he was stigmatized as a rebellious vassal and reached the end. The end of the hero of the hometown was nothing but the height of remorse.(From the explanation board of the Akechi Castle Ruins Preservation Society and the Kani City Tourism Association at the Akechi Castle Ruins) The photo in the center above is the site of Kuguri Castle of Mino Genji , also in Kani City. "Toki clan , Kuguri Castle , Toki Bellflower , from the castle built in 1410 , the castle of Toki Mikawamori Akugoro , the castle of Kuguri family cut off by Nagayoshi Mori in 1583 " is engraved. Kuguri Castle is said to have been built by Toki Mikawamori Akugoro. For the remains , several steps of enciosures were installed intermittently from the hillside , and strategic points were provided with earthworks and empty moats. It is a typical medieval mountain castle during the Muromachi period , and its remains are still well preserved. Yasusada , the younger brother of Yoriyasu Toki , the guardian of the third generation Mino , was named Toki Mikawamori Akugoro for the first generation , and Toki Mikawamori Akugoro was named for generations. During the several generations until the castle fell due to Nagayoshi Mori , the owner of Kanayama Castle , who tied with Hideyoshi Toyotomi in 1583 , it lasted for more than 200 years and oppupied 3000-kanmon. (Kani City Board of Education) The photo on the right above is the Hachiya Castle ruins (Dobora Castle ruins) of Mino Genji in Hachiya-cho , Kani-gun. Dobora Castle is the fort of Kishi Sadomori , the owner of Hachiya Castle. Nobunaga Oda , who attacked Mino from Owari with the aim of peace in the world , attacked this fort in August 1565 and dropped the castle. At first , Nobunaga spared Kageyu's courage and recommended surrender , but Kageyu , who valued the righteousness of his lord Saito family , refused to do so , resulting in a battle. Nobunaga set up his headquarters in Mt. Takahata on August 28 , and started attacking Dobora Castle from both sides of Yuda and Hachiya , along with Sato , the owner of Kajita Castle , who had been familiar with him earlier. Kageyu , along with the castle soldiers , greeted Nobunaga's army and fought for eight hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. However , his eldest son , Nobufusa was killed and an enemy soldier broke into the castle , set fire to the castle , and he committed suicide with his wife.
