@Tomomasa Toyama , who was robbed of Naegi Castle by Mori family , a vassal
of Hideyoshi Toyotomi , attacked Naotsugu Kawajiri of Naegi Castle owner
and Tomotada Tamaru of Iwamura Castle owner of the West Army during the
"Battle of Sekigahara". As a result , Tono region came under
the influence of the Tokugawa clan. The work of Tomomasa was recognized
, and Ieyasu Tokugawa guaranteed control of 46 villages in Ena-gun and
Kamo-gun , and about 10521 koku. After that , the 2nd generation Hidetomo
and the 3rd generation Tomosada made efforts for land development , promoted
the formation of a vassal corps , and established the foundation of Naegi
territory. @At the time of the establishment of the Naegi clan , there were 10521 koku, but in 17th year of Kyoho , 500 koku of them were returned to the shogunate , and Shimono and others became the territory of the shogunate. On the other hand , the development of newly reclaimed rice fields was encourged , and by the time of Tomoharu , the 4th generation , the actual yield increased to about 15000 koku. @there were 46 villages in Naegi territory , and in the current administrative division , this straddled Nakatsugawa , Ena , Sakashita , Fukuoka , Hirugawa , Yaotsu , Shirakawa , Higashishirakawa , etc. More than half of the villages were small villages with less than 100 koku.
