Hokyointo Tower and Gorinto Tower

The school song of Fukuoka Municipal Fukuoka Elementary School begins with "Dream to Jyogane where the sky is bright ...". The second is "Mt. Futatsumori ..." and the third is "Tsukechigawa River ..." If you choose a representative one that symbolizes Fukuoka , many people will answer "Mt. Futatsumori" or "Tsukechigawa River" , and probably no one will answer "Mt. Jyogane".
@For about 200 years from the Kamakura period to the Muromachi period 700 yeas ago , there was Koeji Castle at foot of Mt. Jyogane in Uenaegi. There was Koeji Castle main building , samurai residence , and Koeji Temple , and Uenaegi was the central area of Fukuoka in the Middle Ages.
@At present , at the foot of Mt. Jyogane , in addition to the remains of Kannon-do , masonry , cornerstones , old wells, garden pond , earthworks and moats , Hokyointo Tower and Gorinto Tower in the photo below remain.
@Indeed , Mt. Jyogane formed a dream castle town in Uenaegi.
@The fact that Koeji Castle and Koeji Temple were not separate but integrated can be seen from the name of the castellan , shaved head Kagetoshi Toyama who is said to have built Koeji Castle , and the castellan , shaved head Masatoshi Toyama , who is said to have moved Koeji Castle to Naegi Takamori.
@Currently , apart from Hokyointo Tower and Gorinto Tower in the photo , a part of Hokyointo Tower is left behind the Kannon-do along with many stones that would have been used for Koeji Temple.
@The photo below is the tomb of the castellan , clan , vassal , or priest of the temple. These tombs escaped the difficulties of Abolition of Buddha of the Naegi family in the early Meiji era. There must have been other Hokyointo Tower and Gorinto Tower around Koeji Temple.

@The photo on the left below is the tomb of Kagekado Kato suke , a senior vassal of Yoritomo Minamoto , in Makinosato , Shuzenji-cho , Shizuoka Prefecture. Kagekado Kato suke was appointed to the lord of Toyama manor in the foothills of Toyama of Mt. Ena. His eldest son , Kagetomo , became the first Iwamura Castle owner and named his surname Toyama. Kageshige , the second son of Kagetomo , became the first Akechi Castle owner , and Kageto , the third son , became the second Iwamura Castle owner. However , nothing is known about the trend of Kagemura , the eldest son of Kagetomo Toyama. According to "Naegi biography" , Toyama family has lived in Uenaegi for several generations sice Kagemura. There may be Kagemura's tomb in the photo above.
@The photo on the right below is the tomb of the Mitsuto Katota (brother of Kagekado Katosuke) clan of Yoritomo Minamoto's chief vassal , in Akechi-cho , Ena-gun.
