| Near Henkoji Temple , there is a mound (Children's Mound) with a height
of 2m. Once upon a time , a plague spread to the area , killing many infants
at once. Therefore , it is said that the infants were buried together here
, filled with thick soil , to prevent the spread of the plague , and to
be enshrined. However , according to one theory , it is said to be the
tomb of a saint or a high priest , guessing from the monument on the enbankment.
It is also reported that one morning , a nearby person found a samurai who had died while standing with a spear as a wand , wearing an armor helmet , and buried it thickly. |
