Pebble Mound

All the roads that have been inherited and developed since ancient times passed through the upper part of the hillside. The reason is that for passers-by at the time , high-altitude trafic was suitable for finding the target more accurately.
The medieval Hida Road in Fukuoka departed from the current direction of Naegi in Nakatsugawa and passed around Koike Ido of Koike District in Fukuoka Ward. Furthermore , it passed through the root of Mt.Jogane in Uenaegi District , passed through the Pebble Mound , and went out to the lower Tashiro River in Shimono. Then , it proceeded along Tasezaka Slop in Tase Ward , passed around Miyawaki , and headed towerd Tsukechi.
Pebble Mound is the place where we offered pebbles and wished for safety during the trip. In addition , the area around the Pebble Mound is a prehistoric site where arrowheads were found , which is called "Pebble Mound Site" and is listed in the history of Gifu prefecture.
